September 30, 2009 - The homeless camp, Nickelsville, in West Seattle is swept by port police. The camp, which has moved 8 times prior to this, has been looking for a permanent location for up to 1000 people. The Port of Seattle had no authority to allow the camp to stay on port property. The camp was evacuated. Twelve people stayed to be arrested.

September 18, 2009 - Parking spots were taken over throughout Seattle by advocates for public space, architects, designers, and others participating in Seattle's third, and the fifth annual Park(ing) Day, started in San Francisco by the art collective, Rebar. About 14 lots were set up at the corner of Belmont Avenue and Pine Street, on Capitol Hill in Seattle. Here is the day in pictures.

April 10, 2006 - An estimated 25,000 people marched through Seattle in support of immigrant rights. Many of these photos, as well as the text, originally appeared in the April 17 edition of the City Collegian at Seattle Central Community College.
