| As a working, freelance journalist, at the beginning of my career, I would like to take the practice of journalism a step beyond what we know as the final written article, as it appears, in the daily paper. And to that end, this blog is an experiment in cooperative, community journalism. Here, the stories will not be written in isolation from the readers, but with their input, points of view, and questions about the story as it progresses. The process will be transparent. And with the help of readers, I hope to produce articles rich in meaning and relevance. |
I am asking for reader involvement. Read the blog. Add comments. Send e-mails when you have relevant information. I would also like to add readers’, photos, videos, and other materials. On Mondays, using the information I’ve gathered from all sources, I’ll post the final story on the Cojourn front page. As of now, this site is brand new and experimental. It will take some time to refine it and to develop my own process for this kind of approach. |
As I work it all out, I would like to make this a beneficial and interesting news source for Capitol Hill and Seattle. Stick with it. It's going to get good. -Scott Sands |
